Gparted does no longer read the partitions on Ubuntu10.04

I do not know what I have done but I used to be able to see the partitions on Hard Disk wich has WinXP and Ubuntu 10.04 as well as other partitions I have created.

I can access the partitions but cannot any longer see them with Gparted. Enlosed 2 screenshot ( Gparted and Disk Utility which shows the partition)

Can anyone help ?

Hi eSelix Where do I find the yellow exclamation mark?
I have enclosed 2 screen-shots of what happens when I load Gparted from System > Administration > Gparted, and also what is described by loading the disk utility again using System > administration > Disk Utility.

Thank you eSelix. I always admire younger people for being more adventurous than I am. I assume you are younger than I ( I am 75). I am often afraid of clicking around.
Back to the exclamation mark. I have double clicked (and enclose a screenshot) but nothing happend. I get a new windows

Erk ... from a terminal (maybe Applications -> Accessories -> terminal; I don't have a Ubuntu system handy). Enter these and post/attach all the output - that's a lower case ell (for list) in both commands

There is a warning that say you have overlapping partitions. This can happen when you used tools that do not recognize other partitions than FAT or NTFS. You can very likely lost your data, so first make a backup. The best options will be to repartition your drive from begining. I recommend this. If you can't you can try using testdisk to repair it or search Internet.

The only problem I can see there is the swap overlapping the end of the extended. Presuming all the basic structure is sound (i.e. all but the first partition are supposed to be logicals), I'd just boot a liveCD and delete and reallocate the swap. Will likely change the name (/dev/sda?) of both it and the FAT partition, and will certainly change the UUID when mkswap is run.

The deletion/allocation will have to be done from fdisk.
