you have to use that arrow thingy to click on what it is you want to get rid of. Don't be scared to fiddle around just cautious, you have to find the partitition that you installed your linux distro on, select them or the one you used then select dlete and yes, then select that empty part you'll then have then create the new partition, ( this is in leu in just selecting it then - checking that box to just have it format it instead, while you have mount point as / )
just re-create your partition again mount point / ext4 or what ever you want it to be. then confirm it so it will write it to the disk. then you can procced.
I managed to get past the partition menu on Linux Mint LiveCD. Thank you. If it installs correctly and Windows 7 isn't damaged, I will give you all a big thank you and an apology for being kind of rude.
First of all, I would like to say Thank you to the people who helped me get through this, despite my negative attitude at the beginning.
Secondly, I want to apologize for being so rude. I've loved technology since preschool (and that was more than 10 years ago), so it's not unusual for me to get upset if something I am not aware of happens to a computer.
I know more about Windows than Linux, and I'm currently learning more about both. I am in an Intro to IT class in my school (I'm 14 years old btw).
Now that I am on Linux Mint, it IS better than Ubuntu! I want to thank you all for helping me.
I will come back if I have any more questions, but otherwise you can talk to me on deviantART (sonicNmicrosoftfan98) or you can email me (snmsf98@yahoo.com).
Now, I'm off to do some more fun things with Linux Mint, maybe install a couple of things I want!

Hi...
I certainly accept your apology but I think you need to be aware of something. The problem is that when you act in anger, you cause destruction to yourself and others around you in some way. A couple responses here in this thread are examples of that. One person decided to no longer help you.
I am also telling you this by experience. A number of years before I came to the Lord, I was one angry, hate filled person! I had no problems getting into verbal fights with my family and other people. But the end result of my behavior was that I had a poor relationship with my parents and I only had one friend, whom I lost a couple times. Long story there but the friendship was resumed both times and God used it powerfully to bring me to Himself. You can read more about that in my blog here.
No one really wanted to be around me or to deal with me during those years and I was pretty lonely.
However, since coming to Jesus, He has been working with me on my anger issue and it's nothing like what it used to be and I no longer have folks wanting to avoid me because of that. This is a change He has brought about within me that I couldn't do myself. And if He can do it for me, He can do it for anyone, including you. Rage/anger is something you can be free from.
I am also saying this to you to encourage you to think about this (and about God) now while you are young. Don't wait until you are older when the sins start racking up and taking more of a toll on your life (and there is more to unlearn and get healed from.) Take a look at my links below and ask me if you have any questions.
By the way, you might want to change the "@" symbol in your email address to "at" or something like that, otherwise your inbox might start to fill up with SPAM in the very near future.
Regards...

Reason: Added information.
I've reported this post as inappropriate. Please keep your preaching in off-topic, it does not belong in technical threads/fora. I've already shut off signatures for the entire forum because I find yours to be particularly offensive. I was alright with that, but now you're bringing the same crap into your actual posts, where it does not belong.

You are welcome!
And might I add that your progression through this thread demonstrates an excellent example of growth, both technically and in personal character (i.e. maturity)!
Actually, I initially thought that you were probably older and simply had not formed many good character traits along the way. But being 14, and having actually considered and responded to the comments about behavior in the forum is a very rare and good thing!
Evidently you were also able to work through the technical problems and reach a successful conclusion! Great!
You have shown, and earned, respect! Well done, my compliments!
I expect to see you rapidly grow into a respected contributing LQ member and friend!
Best of luck in all your endeavors!

Reason: typos, grammer
I'm happy stromed the weather rather well, went through the normal stages of panic, confustion, rage, then worked your way through the sloution and solved your problem.
after you have gone through enough panic attacks it gets easier, just step back, take a breath, then attack it... "remember the computer is only as smart as the person using it". It can all be replaced one way or another, even windows...
One more truism: You never get a second chance to make a first impression...
on line you can -- new user name.
people get up set and blow off steam -- this so called civilization in todays world is so busy trying to control itself and by setting rules on what it is to "act normal" it no longer even understnads itself anymore, so now it is more abnormal then normal .. casues and effects
