Unhappy Got my dual boot working, now LINUX WON'T CONNECT TO THE INTERNET!?!?!? :-(

I swear. If it ain't one thing, its got to be another.

I finally got my dual boot working (as I'm typing this from winXP now) but a new problem has arisen. In linux (Mandrake 10.1 CE), I can't connect to the internet!

In all my previous Linux installations, internet connectivity has NEVER been an issue until now. When I login to Linux, I get a message saying that the network is down yada yada and I can't connect to the net. Why is this?

I have a cable modem which has never given me any problems. In previous installations, I always selected eth0 realtek| and the net always worked. As a matter of fact, during installation, setup connected to the net to look for a list of available updates! So why when I login does it not connect to the net?'

This is urgent, can someone please help me. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Ha!!! Its on!!! There must have been some sort of hiccup at my ISP cause its back on now thank goodness. One of the main reasons for me installing Linux was because of its "internet security prowess." I don't want to use windowz to browse the net anymore, only when absolutely necessary lol. Thanx for all the help you guys would have provided me.

Glad to hear you're up and running. Don't forget to change the distro number in your profile.

Have fun
