Got fatal error 1236: log event entry exceeded max_allowed_packet+MySQL replication

Hi Friends,

I am currently working on MySQL(5.1.41) replication (SSL based).Some times the replication failed on Slave showing an error message "Got fatal error 1236 from master when reading data from binary log: 'log event entry exceeded max_allowed_packet; Increase max_allowed_packet on master'".Every time i had to make mysqldump and import it in the Slave.Storage type is InnoDB.Also from servers error.log i am often getting "InnoDB: ERROR: the age of the last checkpoint is 9445799,InnoDB: which exceeds the log group capacity 9433498".Currently i haven't enabled "innodb_log_file_size = ".Will it affect replication?.

In my.cnf i have values,

key_buffer = 16M
max_allowed_packet = 32M

on both Master and Slave.

Do i need to increase max_allowed_packet/key_buffer or any other paramater in my.cnf to avoid replication failure.

Thanks,
Ajayn

replication fails

I get the same error and have tried to update these values but does not solve the problem.

Code:
Got fatal error 1236 from master when reading data from binary log: 'log event entry exceeded max_allowed_packet; Increase max_allowed_packet on master'

What have you tried setting the max_allowed_packet to ?

It sounds just like you have a large transaction going on which is larger than your max_allowed_packet .. I have seen these in the past when I imported a large amount of data at once for example.

Check:
http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.5/...too-large.html

I would try just keep increasing max_allowed_packet ?

max allowed packet

I have tried to set 128MB on both master and slave but it still didn't work, and then tried 1G on master but no effect

Now I am just creating a backup from another slave and going to dump it into the faulty slave.
