Good unrar-er

Hey guys, I tried to go to synaptic and download unrar-free, and it doesnt work with version 4 rars. then i tried the demo from source. but i cant seem to install it properly. has anyone installed this successfully? please tell me how thanks

also what kind of dvd player would you reccomend? i got xmms, but thats just for mp3s and im happy with it.

Edit: I also wanted sto install this game but i cant start it for some reason, its for windows www.o2jam.com.my. its online but it just says i can open......i wanna play this.

it requires DX, so i assume it's windows only, in which case you will need wine (www.winehq.com) or even better, Cedega (http://www.transgaming.com/index.php...eid=2&meid=-1).

Ark always manages to uncompress anythign i chuck at it.

Is unrar-nonfree in the uhh synaptic package manager? i havent seem to have found it.

and wine says i cant start it.......i wanna play. well i could always dual boot back to windows. but to much trouble, i havent gotten one windows game to work. except for warcraft 3, it came closest but when i was implementing the no cd hack, it still said insert cd.....any help

yes if you have non-free in your source list..if not just add it:
deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ unstable main non-free contrib

Hey Thanks Wrat. I was just about install it but then it gave me this error that said failed to run /usr/sbin/synaptic/
Unable to copy user's Xauthorization file. Please help. It gave me another error earlier, But that doesnt even show up any more becuase it doesnt even run......Please. Help thanks.

Sethis,

Make sure that you are doing this as a root user.

try this :

Login as root
vi /etc/apt/sources.list

Add the repository mentioned above. Save the file

Now run apt-get unrar-nonfree

It should work
