Good evening all
Wow it has been ages since ive used linux but after some recent run ins with windows i decided to make the switch back. I have a couple of problems.
1) Cannot figure out where to get wireless N driver for Wifi card 2) when ever i open a web page that has php(such as trying to put here)doesnt allow me to post it, it simply tries to download the .PHP file. Any ideas? Cheers. Alex |
What distro are you using?
|
Hi and welcome to LQ Alex, now to give you some advise
Please list your distro and the name and model of your network card. Start a new thread in 'Linux - networking' or your 'distro' forum with the wireless question with an appropriate title. Also start a new thread for your php post problem. This gives your posts the exposure they deserve. Larry |

please see here for more on the wifi situ.. And actually, since the Wifi thread is somewhat underway, let's call this thread the PHP one :) If the OP could rename this thread something about the PHP problem, and continue the Wifi chat on the other thread, that'd be handy. Thanks! Sasha |
Hey All,
I am using Ubuntu netbook remix. I think the php error has to do with the web browser or maybe my network connection. when i get around to it I think i am going to try plugging my computer into the router |
Hi Alex,
If pluggin the computer to the router helps you , kindly upgrade the firmware of the router and also fiddle with the recommended wifi channel of your region , that will make a huge difference. Let us know about general internet performance like streaming and download experience thanks. |
Hey,
Well i think i have fixed the php issues, i changed the MTU settings on my router and so far so good. I havent had any problems. |
Ah thats good , I have seen fiddling with MTU size has helped me greatly with even VPN pass-through issues ,
|
I also upgraded my router, got a DSL modem/router from my isp and it works good too..
