Here is my problem, When i am in gnucash, if I select the help button or the New user tutorial buttons, gnucash shutsdown. I want to see the information in the tutorial and it will not open, can't figure out why. I uninstalled, restarted the machine and then reloaded gnucash, still the same problem. Any ideas

By the way this is Suse 10.1 version.

did you also install the documentation?
it may not be installed by default.

it could also be a bug in the gnucash build for suse.

to make life simple, gnucash was designed to be almost identicle to AccPac's Simply Accounting. This means that it is also very similar to Quicken etc.
If you have used any of the "Small / home business" accounting software on windows, you'll not have any real suprises in how gnucash works.

It does lack some of the chart creation features, but then you can import the gnucash data into gnumeric and use the spreadsheet charting features to create a chart.

also, like many apps, gnucash has a version of the documentation online. You can check it out here (http://www.gnucash.org/docs/v1.8/C/g...elp/help.html). That should be exactly what you are trying to open from within gnucash

I have already downloaded the PDF files for the Tutorial and the help file from gnucash. Thanks.

But my Question is where is the documentation supposed to be, what path?
and
Can I copy the PDF's into that folder so when I click on the Help or the New User Tutorial buttons in gnucash, will they open up?

My install has /usr/share/gnucash/doc. It uses html files inside.
