GNU is a recursive acronym for “GNU's Not UNIX”; it is pronounced “guh-noo.”)

A simple google search for GNU returns:

http://www.gnu.org :)

Note: Large font is annoying, and please don't piggy back Q's, encase someone has the some question. But because it looks like your new, i'll let it slide ;)

Unix isn't Linux ;)

Your 'hidden' files in Linux start with a dot. (.)

Ex

Code:

.gaim
To view them do
Code:

$ ls -a

Try Midnight Commander (console with mouse), or Konqueror... The latter being very user friendly

Doolspin 11-18-2004 11:10 AM

Code:

rm -r /dir/to/remove

What desktop are you using? In GNOME you do the following: start nautilus -> go to edit -> preferences -> click Show hidden and backup files. In KDE you do the following: start konqueror -> go to view -> select show hidden files.

hidden files

just realised you said you are using Xandros, try the method for Konqueror, if that doesn't work then you'll have to search coz Xandros using a file manager thats slightly different to Konqueror.
