Unhappy GNU GRUB VER 1.99-21 screen No responce

Dell 2400 Dimension 1GB Ram OS Ubuntu 12.04

As the PC was starting & before log in I press start button again & PC when off.
Re-started PC and had options on screen below.

GNU GRUB VER 1.99-21 ubuntu29

With option to press ESC, Safe Mode , Memory etc.

I did Memory test which PASSED OK.

Tried ESC to re-boot but this did not work, switch off PC by holding in start button.

I was presented with GNU GRUB VER 1.99-21 ubuntu29 screen again and there was no
response to any keys.

Please help

Thank you

Richard

Hi:

Generally when you see this:
Code:
GNU GRUB VER 1.99-21 ubuntu29
Most folks just press 'Enter' If that doesn't work--

Try re-installing your grub.

Here's Grub 2

Plug it in. Does the keyboard work, is it securely plugged in? Is Ubuntu the only system on the computer?

As you can see I have now log in From Dell OS Ubuntu and the answer to only system on this computer this PC is "yes" only Linux on my Dell.

I was using My other Windows XP PC (which I hate) but it helps in resolving some of my friends Windows problems...

I am ALL for free opensource software............it's great....!
