GNOME power manager problem
Hi, i'm not that expert in linux, but recently i installed Fedora Core 8, everything went fine, but when i reboot my computer it prompt that "GNOME Power manager has not been installed correctly, contact your network administrator" I have tried to upgrade "yum upgrade" in vain.
Actually the desktop appears with only two icons My computer and Users documents. No background no Tittle bar no what. i cant even start browser. but when i press Ctrl+Alt+f2, i can log in and do anything i want. Any help will be appreciated. |
In the gnome desktop, press alt+f2 enter gnome-terminal
In prompt try command gnome-power-manager, check the configuration If this fails Install power manager from here: https://admin.fedoraproject.org/pkgd...-power-manager |
Hi Jerry, thank you for your quick reply.Unfortunately when i press alt+f2 as you said nothing happens. And could you please give some explanation on how to install power manager from the link you gave me "https://admin.fedoraproject.org/pkgd...-power-manager" as all i see is a list of users, could you kindly help me on how i can use the link!?
Help please |

Thank you jerry, that worked fine. but there is one little problem still persist. When i start any application, those Minimize, Maximize and Close windows don not appear. It appears a small down arrow at the center of the title bar, where you can choose those operations. What could be the cause?
thanking you in advance. |
