Gnome Panel Help and Netscape Fonts

Hi All,

Everytime I login to RH9, the bottom panel color changes to black - so I cant even see the icons and the clock. This happens for every user in the system including the root user. Is there a way to persist the changes I make by changing some file maybe the %gconf.xml. Please advise.

Also, the netscape fonts on my machine suck - even after isntalling and using the MS TT fonts and following every instruction on the SourceForge page. Does anybody want to share a similar experience.

Thanks a lot guys.

As far as Netscape fonts go, you might want to switch over to Mozilla (basically identical to Netscape) and grab the GTK2-enabled RPMS. The fonts should look real nice then:

http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/r..._8x_RPMS/gtk2/

(They say Red Hat 8 but work for 9 too).

This is just a guess. If you're running KDE but use some Gnome apps, Nautilus can sometimes kick in and overwrite parts of the screen. There's an easy way to fix that but I don't know it. I removed Nautilus. The fix may be on this site. Try a search.
