Cool Gnome-kde?!

Aloha nui loa!!!!!!!!!! What an incredible Forum!!

We are using RHL 7.2 with Gnome. When we tried to utilise the KDE Control Center to change the
desktop settings we are unable. It would let you see the various changes but not apply them to the
actual desktop. We seem to remember doing this before, but maybe we were wrong. Does using
the Gnome disable the KDE Control Center? If so, does it just disable these (look and feel) setttings
or does it disable all of Control Center ?

We thank you very much for your help!

you don't sem to be aware of what gnome and kde are. they are desktop environments, and as such operate COMPLETELY seperately to one another. just like Word's settings don't affect Powerpoint (why on earth should they??) kde can't change gnome and vice versa. How abuot a really novel idea... you're using Gnome, try the Gnome Control Centre!!!! gnomecc from a terminal

Thank for your reply. You say that they are completely separate of one another...yet it is accessible from Gnome and many of the applets [for some of the other menu items] do indeed work within Gnome.

This confuses us. I remember in RH 7.1 the behaviour was different than 7.2.

We'll give the gnomecc a try.

Mahalo [er, Thanks].

Cool Da Kine!

Yep, that was what we used before!!!!! DUHHHHH

Thank you Mr? Acid for the help!

In many ways this OS just simply blows anything MS has right out of the OCEAN. Just a matter of tweaking and fixing, studying and learning...

Thanks again!
