I'm running Fedora 16 on a laptop using Gnome 3.
Couple of weeks ago, I installed LXDE and Xfce out of curiosity. Yesterday, I removed them and all their dependencies. But now, I cannot log into Gnome3 or any GUI.
After booting and choosing the kernel version, I get
Loading inital ramdisk
2.116767] [Firmware bug]: powernow-k8: No compatible ACPI _PSS objects found
2.116767] [Firmware bug]: powernow-k8: Try again with latest BIOS
The OS itself looks fine, I can boot into the CLI where everything works, but how do I fix Gnome3?
I tried reinstalling gnome-shell.i686, that didn't do anything.
Now I installed lxde and xfce again and I'm trying to find my way into the DE from the command line.
When I run
I get, among others,
Code:
> Warning: Type "ONE_LEVEL" has 1 level, but <RALT> has 2 symbols
> Ignoring extra symbols
Errors from xkbcomp are not fatal to the X server
xinit: unable to run program "xterm": No such file or directory
Specify a program on the command line or make sure that /usr/bin is in your path
/usr/bin is indeed in my $PATH.
Also note that I cannot get ssh to work yet (No route to host) so I have to write the messages up manually.
Anyone with an idea how to start lxde or xfce
