Gnome Desktop Blank!?
Hi All,
We are using WinAxe to open remote sessions on an Enterprise box. This is the second user that this has happend to and I don't know what they are doing to promt it but the Gnome desktop is blank, no icons, no toolbar. The last time I took the easy(?) way out and deleted the user and set them back up again. If this is going to be a regular occurence I would like to understand what is happening and how to fix it. I searched this forum and found similar questions but no resolution. I tried copying the .gconf, .gconfd, .gnome and .gnome2 directories from a user with no problems but that did not help. Any ideas? John,
I had that happen to me on the last release (not the current one) of Ubuntu. Killing X and restarting it did the trick, but it wasn't all that common after a few updates and I haven't seen it in months. If you are using Ubuntu I would recomend upgrading everything, any distro for that matter, upgrading can only help. Shane |
