gnome and kde

I have installed debian 6 and after installation there was only command line mode visible to me. then I installed gnome and everything is fine now.

my question is that I heared that kde is more better in look than gnome.

is it better for me if I install kde?
will installed software of gnome will also work in kde?

how can I install kde?

after installation will gnome will get removed or not?

Only you can decide if Gnome or KDE are better for you. Just install and test it.
You can use KDE software in Gnome and Gnome software in KDE without a problem.
Gnome will not be removed if you install KDE, you can choose which one you want to use at the login screen.
To install KDE in Debian 6 launch this command as root:
Code:

apt-get install kde-full
