All users accessing the internet in my office are authenticated by
our linux proxy server(fedora core 5).
I have a web application which would "not install or run " when the PC is connected to the office network. When i disconnect the machine from the network and connect a GPRS internet modem, I am able to " install and run " the web apllication through a Web link provided by the sotfware vendor.
No provision have been in the web application to capture the proxy address, port and user ids & password for users in the web application.
I reported this to the vendors of the Web application and they intend gave me the IP addresses of their site/ servers for me to give access to the web application.
The problem now is that i donot know how to implement this as i am new to linux.I would therefore be most grateful if any guru in the house can help me find a solution to this problem.
Thanks very much in advance.

Reason: need to fix a tag
The "web application" ... is it running on Linux, Windows, Mac-OS, ... ?
Is it a Java or a native app?
Does your proxy work transparently under normal circumstance, or
do your other machines on the net browsers have to be pointed at
the proxy explicitly?
Thanks for the reply. The web application runs on windows platform. All machines on the network have to be pointed explicitly to the proxy before the can browse the internet.
I check squid, i took off authentication and it worked perfectly.
So how do i give access to a particular website while authentication is still turn on .
