With what program can I do gif animation on linux?

There are several. The two I use are the gimp and ImageMagick convert.

You can do animated gif with Gimp?
Do you have a tutorial or know one?

I use multigif (http://www.kfs.org/~abw/code/multigif.html) a very simple, but effective, command line tool.

This was a pleasant surprise when I discovered it......
In the GIMP:
Create a multi-layer file
Save as .gif format
you will be prompted for the option to save as animation, and to enter the repeat time. Then when you open a animated gif, you can edit these properties for each frame.

<<end world's shortest tutorial>>

See the gimp link in post #2 - it points to a tutorial for creating animated gifs with gimp.
