Getting WiFi to work on a Dell Precision 4300

My Dell 4300 does not work with our Wifi. The original Rhel5.0 would only connect sporadically, so I installed FC9 hoping to fix the problem. The problem didn't change.

It will take aprox / 3 reboots to get the wifi to connect. Then if I move about the building, the wifi will disconnect requiring the process to be repeated.

I'm running Fedora release 9 (Sulphur) with the default kernel, 2.6.26.6-79.fc9.x86_64 SMP.

However it also failed in the same manner w/ rhel 5.0 with stock kernel.

Any suggestions/recommendations would greatly be appreciated.

You can try downloading latest drivers from here:

http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Do...irelessdrivers

and compiling them yourself (dead easy) - you'll need your kernel headers installed + normal build tools.

I'd suggest posting specifics regarding hardware (such as wireless card), drivers being used, and what errors you're getting as specific information tends to get specific answers.

Having to reboot several times to get reconnected suggests it's a dhcp issue but without specific information that's just a guess.
