Getting to the GUI on Red Flag Desktop 5.0NE

I just bought an Eee Box with Red Flag Linux Desktop 5.0NE. My intention was to use it as a backup server at home to backup files and photos, etc.

I know nothing about linux. Can you help me? How to I get to a graphical user interface so I can start to know what I'm doing?

When I switch on the machine, it says:

Red Flag Desktop 5.0NE
Kernel 2.6.21.0-22 on an i686
localhost login:

I have no idea what to type.

Hello kp123.

What your being presented with is the command line. At the prompt where it says "localhost login:", type in your username (the username you entered during installation).
After doing this, you'll be prompted for your password, type your password. (NOTE: the password will not echo, meaning that no asterisks will be shown, this is a security feature of *nix that makes it so that the length of your password is not known).
