Getting something to run Mandrake 9.1

Ok I have been using Linux for a while now and have decided to run a TeamSpeak 2 server which is basically a VOIP.

I installed it OK and ran it under root in which it prompted me not to do. I did it anyways and tested it all out and it works fine.

To be good I figured I would not run it as root again and created a new account. (I used to only use root) Now when I try to run it I get problems with permissions and things.

What would be the best way to go about running this in my new account?

Thanks,

Luke

I am using Mandrake 9.1

Wow! Same person who helped me yesterday. Thanks. I am at work should be home in about 4 hours I will try to install the TeamSpeak under my username then try and run it from my home directory rather the etc/ts2_rrc2

Here is the error:

bash: ./teamspeak2-server_startscript: /bin/bash: bad interpreter: Permission denied

It works when I am root. I installed it in my home directory.

It would look like, you are trying to start some kind of game server. You need to start the server as root, so you can su, start your server. then play the game as a regular user. I assume there is another app(web, whatever) that users use to play this game?

Ok Thanks again for all the help I got it fixed.

This program is not a game it is a VOIP server to allow users to talk for free anywhere in the world while using your computer. You can use it for support/online games or which ever you choose. It is a great program if you want more info go to

I seemed to have all the problems because I copied the install file using root so somehow relations were maintained. I erased everything with Root then logged into my user account. Downloaded it again and installed it. It works fine now.

Thanks for working with me.

Cheers,

Luke
