I am getting all the way to the end of the instalation, it askes me for a kernal.. i tell it to get off the slackware CD and it does nothting..

and as far as i can tell all i can do is reset and start the 30 min process all over again to have it just screw up again..

Instead of getting the kernel off the cd tell it to use the same kernel that you used to install with, its in the same menu as get kernel from cd.

agreed with the above user; there is an option that says use the default kernel installed (in "A" series)

as for getting kernel off cd; do any errors get displayed, or does the installer just hang? it could be that your cd drive spins down and doesn't like to spin up again (that is what my cd drive does many times)

listen to your drive and see what happens

It is also possible that the installer is unable to read the CD Rom. I would suggest as the other two mentioned to use the kernel already installed. Let us know how it turns out.
