Getting problem while booting LFS-6.3: Interface eth0 doesn't exist [WARN]

Hi Friends

I am using VmWare 6.0.4 to build my LFS-6.3 . After completing all steps .I boot up my lfs and i got the following error :

Interface eth0 doesn't exist [WARN]

.On entering lspci i got output :

Ethernet controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] 79c970 [PCnet32 LANCE]

It is requested to you to please suggest me the configuration i should make while compiling kernel Linux-2.6.22.5 to solve above problem .

Please suggest me what do i do ,also tell me if you need any other information from me .

Did you compile the driver as a module or statically into the kernel?
You selected Y and not M, right?
In this case, no modprobe is necessary.
Do you have eth0 now?
can you please post the output of ifconfig -a please?

I have selected y before and it did not work .ifconfig was also not showing anything .But later when I used M to select pcnet in cofiguration of kernel it works fine . So I need to know why it didn't work when I select Y in kernel configuration .

Anyways Thanks a lot for Help!
