Question Getting Debian to Start KDE

I just installed the most bare distribution of Debian without anything in it. So I decided to install kde. I ran apt-get install kde and it was properly installed. But what do I need to do now to get it to start? I mean like in a regular linux distro. As you can see I don't have an emergency I am just practicing in order to learn. I have it running in virtual box so if I mess up I can just re-install it. Thanks

install xorg and kdm

Most likely you'll want to install xorg and kdm.
Without it, you'll only be able to run kde with a remote X server.

Cheers.

I always install Debian in this manner, only selecting 'standard system' in dselect. Then after re-boot I issue the commands below to get it the way I want it and start kdm:
Code:
apt-get install x-window-system
apt-get install alsa alsa-utils
apt-get install kde-core synaptic iceweasel icedove kdm pmount hal usbmount
/etc/init.d/kdm start
