ftpd is calling getpeername() on a descriptor to find out details such as the remote IP address at the other end of the connection. But in fact there is no connection which most likely means the connection ended very quickly (or maybe the program has been confused into applying this function to an ordinary file descriptor).

Thank you very much for the quick response..

"Oct 18 23:00:55 App2 ftpd[23406]: [ID 572618 daemon.error] getpeername: Transport endpoint is not connected."

I am very new to systems and softwares,
could you explain more in this pls??

why this error and what would have actually occurred? and how this can be rectified?

Is it a problem in FTP connection between two machines?
just by making sure the correctness of the FTP connection can we get rid of this error?

Thanks in Advance,,

If you have users doing FTP then talk to them about what they are doing that causes the errors.
If you don't then shut down the unwanted FTP service.

But this is happening at the customer site..
they ask why this error? and I am analyzing the problem..
he says he is keep on getting the error on his machine..

Its high available machine with two solaris machines, there is a load balancer that takes care of these machines.
he gets the error continuously on both the machines!!
what could be the problem??
