Reverse engineering something as complex as the Linux kernel would take maybe the same time it took to write it (17 years)----plus maybe another 10 years. You might die first.

Assuming that you don't have any configuration files, just get the source and compile a new kernel with the configuration you need. Researching the details of this will take way less than the ~1/4 century I estimated for the reverse-engineering....

lol
i think yea u all right,
ok, then maybe we can save time if i could do this:
i have a working Kernel and i need to do native compilation on the embedded board, is it possible?
what i have done so far is trying to install a compiler on USB stick and mount it on the board and try to compile a "hello.c". i still get errors.

i dont know but if i have to install the cross compiler i used to use from my PC when compling kernel or i need another version.

any hints?
thanx
