Get a blank screen when installing linux red hat 9

I am try to install Linux Red Hat on my computer along side windows xp, i have two hard drives in my computer so why not. However when i stick in the boot cd, the installation program starts up, I hit enter to start the installation process, a load of command text comes up and then my screen just goes blank.
Does any one have any ideas why this might be happening??
Computer is a 1.5GHZ pentium 4, so its not to old. Baffles me!!

Maybe your video drivers aren't being configured right. Try installing in text mode with linux text
Configure it to run in text mode by default, then you can debug your video after you get linux installed.
If the problem really is your video driver, you can get it working by editing /etc/X11/XF86Config. Find a section called Section "Device" and edit it to put in the name of an appropriate driver on the driver line.
My computer gave me a blank screen when I tried to install Red Hat 9 and that's what I did. Specifically, I set Driver to "nv" for my nVidia card.

I tried installing in text mode same thing happened though. I have got a NVIDIA GeForce2 MX400 graphics card, so that may be the problem. How would you go about editing that from the boot up installation menu??

Moved: Not a Success Story, more suitable in Newbie.

Does the installation finish OK? If so, you can usually get out of the X server by pressing ctrl-alt-backspace. Try that and see if you get a text prompt.
If Linux isn't even installing in text mode, there must be something else wrong. I'm a newbie myself, but someone else will be able to help.
