Gentoo Portage question.

IM going to ask this in the newbie section, cause I should know this!!! In portage, on 2 of my Gentoo machines I have an application called vtun listed as version 2.x.x on one of my other machines it is listed as vtun 3.x.x.. I updated portage on the 2 machines showing 2.x.x. but it still shows as 2.x.x. I know there is a way in Portage to force it to install a certain version, but for the life in me its been so long I can't remember..

net-misc/vtun
stable is 2.6-r1
3.0.1 is the unstable one
If you want to use this, put:
net-misc/vtun ~x86
into
/etc/portage/package.keywords
/etc/portage/package.unmask if it would have been a masked package - this one without the ~x86
could well be that this has dependencies on other unstable packages - but now you remember the procedure?
