To hamish : when i use livecd, make net-setup - put all adrress and Internet working. All shit is afterfull install

Michael Johnson 07-08-2005 08:34 AM

do the following commands and let us see the results
#dmesg | grep eth0
#ifconfig
if the first command gives no output then let us know.

Thanx Michael Johnson; but dmesg |grep eth0 is empty; and ifconfig show just lo. Have any idea ?

ARCIS_house 07-08-2005 11:25 AM

When i make lsmod command from livecd i can't show which module use network card. I show mii and tulip but he is 0. I make modprobe mii or modprobe tulip, but he always is 0. When i make lsmod command from installing gentoo system, i give empty list. And...?

ARCIS_house 07-08-2005 12:26 PM

when i make
grep TULIP /usr/src/linux/.config
i have
CONFIG_NET_TULIP=y
CONFIG_TULIP=y
#CONFIG_TULIP_MWI is not set
#CONFIG_TULIP_MMIO is not set
#CONFIG_TULIP_NAPI is not set

in kernel i have all about TULIP bookmark.

and command /etc/init.d/net.eth0 start show error
status say net.eth0 is stopped

have any idea?

Go to this page and follow networking in you new installation
http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handboo...?part=1&chap=8
If you have only 1 computer available then save it to a file and go from there. The file will need to be in you newly installed system.
