As I have researched in Google, Ubuntu 12 and above has that spyware thing which collects user searches. And also there is a lens things which k3lt01 says. I don't know if I'm right but based on my Google searches and based on job applications, many are using Ubuntu. There are tons of distros for Linux but yet I cannot choose which to use. At first I wanted to try Ubuntu because of the reason I've said above. Many users. But as I bump on things regarding Ubuntu having spyware, again I am forced to think again if whether Im still going for Ubuntu.

@pan64 Thank you very much for answering my question. I really appreciated it. Sorry if its just a very basic question for you guys but honestly I just want to have confirmation.

The "lens thing" is the spyware people have complained about. Having said that as soon as you connect to the internet, use Google, Amazon, ebay, MSN, and a myriad of other net based services you will be providing the same information as you do if you use lens.
