GeForce3 with X11

Hi,

I just downloaded Mandrake Linux. While setting up the X-Server a problem occured. My Graphic-Board: Asus V8200 (GeForce 3 Chipset). Mandrake detected the chipset correctly and used the correct driver.
My Problem: First only 640x480 worked. So I edited the XF86Config and inserted a modeline for 1024x768 for my monitor which works fine on my other computer (OS=Debian Linux) which are using the same monitor.
Problem: The monitor displays only trash. It looks like an incorrect monitor timing problem (which is impossible because it works fine eith my other computer).

Does anyone have an explanation how this could happen?
Thanks for your help...
