Gedit help on Replace.

Can the Replace function replace more than one word with the same character(s)?

Also, do you know how to access the plugins provided by the gedit-plugins package?

1) If you click the "Search" menu, then "Replace", and click the "Replace All" button, it will replace all instances of the text you enter with what you entered to replace it with, not just the first occurrence.

2) Click "Edit", then "Preferences", then in the "Plugins" tab you can turn plugins on and off.

By this I meant if I could switch multiple words with one replacement, e.g. a, b, and c with d.

You have to replace all the As with D then all the Bs with D and then all the Cs with D. So this would take three replacements.
