gdm user login

hey everyone,

well, i wanted to change the login theme(not just the background image) in debian (squeeze) so after a lot of search i find out that it can't be done unless you install gdm and remove default gdm3. so i did that and now i have successfully changed it. But now i have a new problem logging in is not as easy as it were before i mean now i can't just click user name and provide password.

so i have two questions:
1) how can i change gdm so that i don't have to enter user name and password by myself. (i want user list displayed)

2) Is there a way i can change default gdm3 login screen appearance not just the background wallpaper?

You might just want to shop login managers...

Here's a nice little, fairly recent article;

Just enable the face browser option via System->Administration->Login Window.
