gDesklets Python dependency issues

I'm trying to install gDesklets on Mandrake 10 running GNOME 2.4. Apparently I needed gnome-python as a dependency for the installation of gDesklets. So I download gnome-python 2.0.2 and run ./configure ... this is what I get at the end:

checking for a Python interpreter with version >= 2.2... python
checking for python... /usr/bin/python
checking for python version... 2.3
checking for python platform... linux2
checking for python script directory... ${prefix}/lib/python2.3/site-packages
checking for python extension module directory... ${exec_prefix}/lib/python2.3/site-packages
checking for headers required to compile python extensions... not found
configure: error: could not find Python headers

Any ideas on what I can do to get these headers back in action would be grealty appreciated, thanks. (I have python 2.3 installed as shown above)

Well guys, let me give you a tip from my recent experience with gdesklets.

Backtrack and reinstall all the depencies for gdesklets, including gnome-python and pygtk and everything. EXCEPT, this time when you go to do this
./configure

add this to it

--prefix=/usr

for example

./configure --prefix=/usr

this will install all these programs where they can find each other, and it will work WAY more smoothly, trust me, it worked for me, and it will most likely work for you.
