Say I have to download somthing that only comes with the source. I can't recall what I was trying to get, but there were a few things. All their readme's say use the 'make' and 'configure' (I think it was probably somthing on KDE-Look)
Is there any way for me to get those to work too?
you got it right, read the README and INSTALL files that come with the archive. most will be a three step process of: ./configure, make, make install. some require extra configuration or tweaking. those three steps will usually be fine.. if not, and if youv read the two files mentioned then post back with details and we can help. good luck!

Yup, I got it working a little earlyer... I realized that I unchecked "Developers Tools" during install.. So I had to go thru the CD and install make and config seperately. Now they work
