Question GCC Compiler HELP


I need some help in getting the gcc compiler. I don't see where I can download it from and I just don't understand what to do.

it should have been installed when u installed red hat

ok, it wasn't so apparent to me, u didn't post any errors. u have a couple of options you can install it from the disks that u installed redhat from or u can try to google and search for gcc and install it. if u are unsure how to install it try google and search this site for installing rpm's. lots of posts on that one. how do u know it isn't installed?? what errors are u getting. when u post it is best to include as much as u can to get as much help as u can.

Sorry.......This is from one of my previous posts

"Anyway, I want to install xmms

I extract the tar.gz to my root folder and I get another folder called xmms-1.2.10
I open up terminal and go into that directory using cd and then I type ./configure
Then I get this message:
[root@localhost xmms-1.2.10]# ./configure
checking build system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu
checking host system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu
checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c
checking whether build environment is sane... yes
checking for gawk... gawk

checking for gcc... no
checking for cc... no
checking for cc... no
checking for cl... no
configure: error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH
See `config.log' for more details."

well, for any newbie i would highly recommend apt4rpm and synaptic. u can search for those and fix a bunch of probs at once. but as far as the compiler it can be downloaded here
