Mandrake 9.1 - glitch free installation
KDE Desktop Environment
Dell 4100 Inspiron Laptop
nVidia GeForce graphics card
Please bear with a complete linux newbie. I am long time windows user, but I am getting quite excited about Mandrake. Under my windows installation I have had to correct the gamma color settings. It looks like this action has to be performed for my linux partition as well.
I have been unable to find any interface for correcting the gamma settings in KDE or Mandrake. So I have done some research into this issue and found out that I need a plug in kalled KGamma. So I downloaded it and tried to install it. The installation failed as x include paths could't be found. It does appear that I have a path entitled usr/X11R6/include so I tried to enter that, but the shell window said that such a file or directory does not exist (although I can browse to this in the quick browse window).
So I guess my question is this: Is there an easy (for a newbie) and fairly fuss free way off getting access to the gamma settings parameters in Mandrake 9.1?
I hope that I have explained my problem well enough, and that it complies with board etiquette. Any help is MUCH appreaciated!
Thank you very much
