gaim quits unexpectedly
hi, my question is regarding to gnome chat client gaim.. i have fedora core 2 installed... amont the many things that seem tricky to me (my first time with red hat distros), gaim just quits unexpectly, for no reason...no messages, no warning, no log... around ten fifteen seconds after i log in.. it probably is an issue regarding to muiltiple accounts.. for they originate when i use multiple accoutns... but continue when i delete all the accoutns and just give set up one account, it seems to work ok for some time... :S
any ideas? |
idea #1 -- run gaim from a console, and watch for error messages
|
tried it... worked ok for a while, interestingly.. then quite again... i am posting the msg on the shell window:
Gaim has segfaulted and attempted to dump a core file. This is a bug in the software and has happened through no fault of your own. It is possible that this bug is already fixed in CVS. If you can reproduce the crash, please notify the gaim maintainers by reporting a bug at http://gaim.sourceforge.net/bug.php Please make sure to specify what you were doing at the time, and post the backtrace from the core file. If you do not know how to get the backtrace, please get instructions at http://gaim.sourceforge.net/gdb.php. If you need further assistance, please IM either RobFlynn or SeanEgn and they can help you. Aborted |
step 2 is doing what it says...
[edit]though i might be curious, i'd just as soon leave this problem to their expertise...[/edit] |
uhm.. just happened again with a different error message, this time it was fast like it used to be..
