gaim and yahoo


why isn't gaim functioning with yahoo ? 0.75

Yahoo had changed their protocols not too long ago, and there are still programs trying to catch up. Gaim thought they fixed it:

gaim.sf.net: We just released Gaim 0.75 for public consumption. Yahoo! works in it (again), and it has a bunch of real important fixes you should grab

But apparently it still has problems. It doesn't work for me either.

gaim.sf.net: Due to problems with current Gaim CVS (Yahoo! still not working properly being the most influential) we are not yet ready to release 0.76.

Just wait for 0.76 to come out. Otherwise temporary solution is just download Yahoo's own program - which they have a linux version for.
