Full guide to mp3's

I just installed the mp3 plugin for my Redhat 9 and have everything up and running... is there any way i can get the files from windows? Help!

Get the files from windows? Are you dual booting? If so you can get the NTFS kernel support rpm and then mount your windows partition and play the files from there.

this doesn't actually have anything to do with mp3's at all does it? just accessinjg a windows file system.

well nah, im here to learn...

sorry boys (& girls) im a n00b as some of you have already figured... what i was trying to do was to mount my fat32(vfat) drive where all my mp3's where... but i have that solved..... now, any possible way to mount an ntfs? and what players other than xmms are there?

you can normally mount an NTFS partition in the same way, but read only access. search this site for details of how to do this if you can't do it yourself.

I use http://mplayerhq.hu for playing most media types, dvd, mp3, divx etc...

Queensaid, mplayer is a great tool for a lot of media in Linux; however I personally don't find it to be the best thing to play mp3's. You might look into:
mp3blaster
winamp
zinf (which is the old freeamp)
or many others available at: www.freshmeat.net (search for mp3 player).
