FTPD installation problem

i tried installing linux-ftpd-ssl on fedora core 6 and gt this errror :
install: cannot create regular file `/usr/man/man5/ftpusers.5': No such file or directory
make[1]: *** [install] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/root/Desktop/linux-ftpd-ssl_0.17.18+0.3.orig/linux-ftpd-ssl-0.17.18+0.3.orig/ftpd'
make: *** [ftpd.install] Error 2

It shows that error is in the manual page.
Could it still b possible that the ftp server has installed.
When i tried to telnet localhost. It gave this error:.
telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused

what is the possible solution?
plz help ( i hv to install the above versions only)

noops I can see that this is your double post http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...lation-804665/

Please dont post it second time.Rather keep your thread open.
Someone surely come up helping out.

Still I can see using Fedora 6 and knudfl has suggested you in earlier thread about obselete fedora 6.
Fedora 13 Beta is in market and you need to upgrade if you need further package available.

[Quote]install: cannot create regular file `/usr/man/man5/ftpusers.5': No such file or directory[Quote]

This directory path should be /usr/share/man/man5/ftpusers.5. /usr/share is the default location for man in RH based distributions. You could change the path in Makefile file and it should proceed.

No harm doing this, as a work around :
# mkdir -p /usr/man/man5

( Some Linux, e.g. Mandriva have /usr/man/man<x>/ ).
