FTP service in Run Level 3

Are there any obvious reasons why the FTP service would not work in Run Level 3 on Red Hat ES 3.0?

Thanks

for what I know you only need to put a link of your /etc/init.d/ftpd to you /etc/rc3.d/ and make it executable (if it wasnt already)

FTPD in case of using proftp... and just to be more specific, the runlevels are more like a convention, the big difference its on runlevel 0 (shutdown),1(or Single) and 6 (reboot).

Run level 2, 3 and 4 you can edit and make they the way you prefer, and if I remmember redhat have a rl 3 as default run level
