FTP Server & Accessing Windows Machine

I am running Debian Linux, and I want to install an FTP server. First, is there an FTP Server that comes with Debian that anyone's aware of, and how do I install it and get it running?

Next Question. Can I have the FTP Server give access to shared folders on a Windows machine that is on the network?

Thanks,
Jesse

VSFTPD is a good FTP server.

I'm pretty sure it comes for all flavors of Linux. Check into it.

If not, Xinetd (the service) can be configured to allow FTP access.

And to your question, maybe, but I doubt it. That's something you'd have to find once you got VSFTPD working :-P

VSFTPD = Very Secure File Transer Protocol Daemon
