Tools needed, full procedure to get it going again." Er... What Distro? What FTP server? The Anonymous files and/or user? Throw us a bone mate... |

Probably if it's used VSFTPD then you will have the configuration inside:
"/etc/vsftpd/" directory and maybe every files there. |
... and your new server; come on, give us help to help you

Chris,
We have a old VSFTPD server running and configured. Now we out of space in it. So i need to take a backup of all the configuration files from our old FTP server and have to restore to new FTP server. I needed to know where and all this configuration file are present. i have already backed up /etc/vsftpd/ directory. Is there anything else to be backed up? Thanks... Quote:

If your old vsftpd server is using user authentications then you might also need to take the backup of the users details and if required there home directories.
By defaults user for ftp will be under /etc/passwd. If you are using virtual users for authentication then you need to check where the user database is stored and take the backup of it. |
Thank u

@ Sharath Ravi
maybe you can post your "vsftpd.conf" file so we (users @ LQ) could take a look and see if anything else is there to backup. |
