FTP Server
I am trying to set up an FTP server. I need a GUI interface to configure it. I don't feel that I am knowledgeable enough with the command line to use that to configure the server, and I don't have enough time to learn how. I have vsftpd and proftpd on my computer, both disabled right now. I am running SuSE Linux 10 on a 3 GHz Celeron D procesor.
Any suggestions for the GUI? I would prefer that it is web-based. Thanks! Mike |
I usually don't suggest this, but webmin should be able to configure either one of those daemons and it is web-based.
I still suggest learning and configuring it properly though the .conf file though. |
Thanks... I will try that tomorrow.

There is unfortunatly no easy way to set up ftp. You need to edit three config files. As I was taught in a school. Im really not sure how to do it, but look into NIS and NFS. Its pretty indepth as I am re learning it too for experimentation sake for developing websites. For example I know you can login using SSH to your linux box by default. I recommend Tera Term Pro for this.
