ftp iso question

Hello all, after i downloaded simplymepis iso ftp not http.
Shortly after i watched a you tube vid on installing
simply mepis. it was said to download ftp surfer and
download the ftp iso using the ftp surfer, i never new about ftp surfer or other software like it. does that mean
that my download is screwed up? i downloaded it by clicking
on the iso and saved to desktop. does that mean that my download is messed up? also what about the md5sum, there
wasn't a md5sum number next to the iso, can i generate one from the iso i downloaded and then check that?
thank you for your time.

Most likely the iso you've downloaded is ok, no matter the program you've used to download it. The only bad thing, is that there was no md5 checksum to verify it.
Anyway, if you want to create a md5 checksum for your iso, you can run:
Code:
md5sum file.iso > file.md5
Regards
