FTP "ASCII" Mode
[ This thread is a result of <<mod edit---another thread>>
RFC 959, "File Transfer Protocol", dictates: Code:
3.1.1.1. ASCII TYPE Quote:
The purpose of this thread isn't to continue the odd debate regarding signatures that was starting in <<mod edit---another thread>> but rather to (hopefully) protect various users from trusting <<mod edit--another member>> in this certain (FTP) matter. Tinkster closed the thread just as I was preparing to post, thus giving <<mod edit--another member>> the last "word". Once again: he doesn't know what he is talking about, despite his "doing this for over a decade". I'm wondering if "this" means "spreading misinformation and reinforcing it with claims of being an expert". Tschuss. |
Easy, there is no need to get worked up. A simple 30s experiment will tell anyone who is right and who is wrong-- it's a little thing, and it's not worth it to get banned for personal attacks or get so angry you don't come back. There's always a ton of people who need assistance. Be calm, think straight, and help the people who need it. If you can't deal with him there is an ignore list for a reason!

I'm sorry, but do not start threads to try and establish who was right in a debate in some other thread---ESPECIALLY when you are targetting the person by name.
Please do not do this again. |
