fstab remain unchanged at reboot

I'm configuring hdb to automatically mount at boot, with the "auto" option", but when I reboot the fstab file is back at its previous configuration. And yes, I did modify it as root :-D

The line is

# Dynamic entries
/dev/hdb1 /mnt/hdb1 ntfs noauto,users,exec,ro,umask=0222 0 0

Thanks

This comment implies that your distribution (Mephis?) uses another task/process/application to modify fstab. The first thing I'd suggest trying is to just move your line for the drive above that comment, and hopefully whatever Mephis is doing to modify fstab doesn't touch anything above the dynamic entries comment.
