Angry fstab file is missing


Hello

I m using RHel 3ES 6Update.
The file system is not mounting as fstab is missing
I have Knoppix and Ubuntu Live CD.

Pl.help

huh... how could that happen?
You need to rebuild it. For that we need your partition scheme and peripheral devices.

Boot from one of the liveCDs. It will have a running /etc/fstab created after finding your partitions and devices.

Mount the RH partition and copy that running fstab to the RH /etc directory.

Before unmounting and trying to reboot, edit the copy of fstab to change the mount points in fstab to match the mount points in RH.

Then try to reboot.

That will be interesting to watch... different distros do slighly different things with this file. Will a SUSE fstab work in fedora? The ubuntu fstab has a lot of keys or uuids in it. What is the knoppix fstab like?

Still, the hard bits should all be there.
