fstab: auto mount floppy at boot

I can't auto mount floppy at boot. The error it says is that the /dev/fd0 is not a block device? What's wrong with the line below?

/mnt/fd0 /dev/fd0 ext3 defaults 0 0

well if that's what it says then i would believe it. presumably you can not actually mount it at all, let alone at boot? is there a different /dev entry you should be using?
