From itunes to what?

Hello.

I haven't yet installed a linux distrib, due to a hard drive that linux doesn't manage, but I prepare the change from XP to a linux distrib still to determine (or two, with two drives).

The only question not yet answered, is the migration from iTunes. And I prefer to see this question, while it's my mainly use of the machine.

I have no iPod or nothing like that, and I don't plan to get one.

The priority: keep my iTunes library (from the xml file for example, even if some editing be required in the notepad-equivalent), with 6500 files, and the playlists. In order of occurence: mp3, wav 16/24/32 Bit tagged (from Goldwave), wav 16 bit not tagged (imported from CD's by iTunes), and some m4a I prefer not to convert in an additional compressed format. I sat the volume manually for each file, not letting iTunes do it alone (I perceipt even more volume differences with their system).

hardware:
320 non-sata drive with documents (including music) that will be changed to new bootable sata to put linux, I plan to put files exactly at the same place from a big backup usb drive.
250 sata drive with xp boot and programs, ntfs. will be reinstalled linux also later when no more need to keep XP, to get two different linux boots, by precaution.
motherboard asus p5wdh
soundboard from the motherboard ac97 (additional soundboard planned for much later)
intel dual core 2.4 GHz
2 Giga of Ram (333 MHz, but I'm not absolutely sure)

Thanks.

now, THE question.

Is there a way to export my manual playlists from iTune to Rhythmbox. There is a xml file where each audio file has a number attributed with infos, and the playlists are defined in another part of this huge xml file, using the number attributed to the audio file. Is there a method to convert this xml file to something that Rhythmbox can understand?

Hi Katastrov,
Google is your friend. I googled playlists itunes rhythmbox and got this:

If that doesn't help there were many other hits. It seems that it is quite possible, even easy, to do but I don't really know much about this sort of thing.
Cheers,
jdk
